Virtual reality for faster stroke recovery

By  Lysette Offley

Virtual reality for faster stroke recovery - photo of remote controlRather than waiting for weekly therapy sessions with the rehabilitation specialist, now, thanks to Tej Tadi in Lausanne, Switzerland, stroke victims can treat themselves from the comfort of their bed.

This is all thanks to virtual reality glasses guiding them through the relevant exercises, while a camera tracks their movements.

Progress is recorded and regularly assessed by the rehabilitation specialist.

This is allowing patients to get home faster, where they continue their recovery using games consoles such as an Xbox or 360 App.

Clever, eh?
